McCain brings the gay hate

Them gays must be stopped. McCain is a Christian now. He must stop them gays.

Mr. McCain, who with his wife, Cindy, has an adopted daughter, said flatly that he opposed allowing gay couples to adopt. "I think that we've proven that both parents are important in the success of a family so, no, I don't believe in gay adoption," he said.

McCain is now a born again Christian. Praise Jesusland we must get their vote.

Asked if he considered himself an evangelical Christian, Mr. McCain responded, "I consider myself a Christian."

"I attend church," he said. "My faith has sustained me in very difficult times." Asked how often he attended, he responded: "Not as often as I should." He has recently been photographed going to church as his campaign has begun to make public the times he attends services.

Now everyone forget this about John McCain he is a true evangelical Christian.

That all changed this week. Mr. Harrison, who considers himself a Christian conservative voter, was deeply offended by Mr. McCain's attacks on Pat Robertson and the Rev. Jerry Falwell, whom he described in a speech on Monday as ''agents of intolerance'' comparable to Louis Farrakhan and the Rev. Al Sharpton.

No he is a true Christian don't believe that speech. McCain loves Jesus even if he has switched his religion.

Republican presidential candidate John McCain, who has long identified himself as an Episcopalian, said this weekend that he is a Baptist and has been for years.

Campaigning in this conservative, predominantly Baptist state [South Carolina], McCain called himself a Baptist when speaking to reporters Sunday and noted that he and his family have been members of the North Phoenix Baptist Church in his home state of Arizona for more than 15 years. [...]

BTW IGNORE THE TRUTH. Focus on the hate of gays.

"Sexual orientation has nothing to do with good parenting," notes Armand Cerbone, PhD, who reviewed research on gay and lesbian parenting as chair of APA's Working Group on Same-Sex Families and Relationships.

Unfortunately, many people are not aware of the three decades of research showing that children of gay or lesbian parents are just as mentally healthy as children with heterosexual parents, notes Cerbone. One such study, published in Child Development (Vol. 75, No. 6, pages 1,886-1,898) in 2004, compares a group of 44 teenagers with same-sex couples as parents with an equal number of teenagers with opposite-sex couples as parents. All participants were part of a national, randomly selected sample of teenagers from the National Longitudinal Study of Adolescent Health.

So there you have it people McCain brought the gay hate.

Re: McCain brings the gay hate (2.00 / 3)

I really don't think McCain is a homophobe, but voting for his party, who have virtually codified Homophobia in their party platform for decades is demented, if someone even claims (PUMA?)they are a progressive.

He is had to kiss Right Wing Ass, but it really didn't do him a lot of good. The Dobsons of the world still detest him, and he lost what ever cred he had with the left for doing it.

But, he HAD to win the nomination, and it goes through ugly places if you are a Republic.

The relatively centris McCain of yesteryear is no more.  It is clear that if he were to win, he would carry water for the most reactionary portions of his voter base.

"I don't believe in gay adoption"

Then who is going to raise all these gay children?  Only straight kids are allowed to be adopted?

Re: McCain brings the gay hate (2.00 / 2)

If the choise is between no moms and two moms, I think most children would be happy with the two mom option. I mean, I'm no expert like McCain, but I do think that children like having parents. Just a hunch.

So you need both parents to raise a child or else you lose the privilege?

Dear John, (2.00 / 2)

I recently heard your commentary about gays and whether they should be able to adopt children.  I am somewhat bemused by your comments, given the fact that you and your wife Cindy have an adopted child who is from a different racial background, and there are groups now calling for refusals of adoptions based on whether there is a racial match between the child and the adoptive parents.

Surely you know that some things transcend the ability to love and care for a child.

When will you stop making gay Americans into second class citizens?

Hell's bells, even the GOP didn't have to crucify Eisenhower's record in order to make Reagan their 'saint'. We can have two great ones, you know?

"I don't 'believe' in gay adoption." WTF (none / 0)

does that even mean? He doesn't "believe" something that obviously exists, yet he "believes" in something that can't be proven to exist., i.e. his God. I'm sure he meant I don't "support" gay adoption. And if that's the case, FUCK HIM!!!!!!!

Re: McCain brings the gay hate (none / 0)

People can have differing opinions of gay issues without being 'homophobes'.

Some of you folks on here need to get a grip: You're a small demograph in our party.  The sun does not rise and set on your gayness.  This is the Democratic party, not the gay party.

Get over yourselves, we have other, MUCH MORE important issues to worry about than you.

If you want Unity, nominate a Democrat
